Midstream giant Williams has reached agreements with Coterra Energy Inc. and Dominion Energy Inc. to deliver certified low-carbon natural gas from the wellhead to Dominion’s Virginia business through 2023.

The arrangement to deliver next generation or “next gen” natural gas “highlights the low-carbon benefits of Coterra’s production in Northeast Pennsylvania and Williams’ gathering and transmission operations to provide a differentiated low-emission gas product for Dominion Energy Virginia,” Williams management said.

Over the project’s one-year duration, it is expected to avoid an estimated 120,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent when compared to the national average methane emissions for the production, gathering and transmission segments, according to the Tulsa-based operator.
